A total of 25% of respondents found that they faced racial discrimination, which is 10% higher than the number of respondents facing the same situation in Asia.

While 31% of respondents felt that there was an inequality in terms of employment due to race.

According to the report, 29% of Malaysian employees also expressed discrimination as a source of inequality in terms of salaries and rewards, increasing from 19% and 23% since 2017 and 2018.

But, the report said, gender equality improved in Malaysia in terms of salary and promotion opportunities, but gender differences still become a major concern at the workplace as the number of women at management level reduced from 46% to 40% last year.
