'Up to Indonesia' - Frontliner Indonesia




As the world struggles to combat the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Indonesia's front line appears to be in despair.


With the phrase “Indonesia? Whatever! ” became trending on social media as a result of the frustration of many of the people there who failed to comply with the social order set out in curbing the Covid-19 outbreak.



In addition to these keywords, #IndonesiaThere's sign was also trending on social media with Indonesian netizens commenting, satirizing, and using memes as a sign of dissatisfaction with the Indonesian government's large-scale Social Limitation (PSBB) directive since March 15.


The fence is believed to have been started by a Frontliner official in Indonesia on May 15 and supported by other social media users in Indonesia.


The indictment was also given to Indonesian authorities who were seen as not maximizing the enforcement of the regulations set out in the PSBB.


Indonesian President Joko Widodo has also stated that the key to successfully controlling Covid-19 is self-discipline.


However, at the same time, it is believed that there were also edited and misleading pictures of the people regarding the PSBB's compliance, such as the amber picture of a motorcyclist who was crushed during a bad flood in Jakarta in early 2020.


According to Indonesian government spokesman Achmad Yurianto Indonesia, 1,391 deaths and positive cases increased to 22,750 cases on Monday.


To date, Indonesia has recorded the highest death toll in Southeast Asia as a result of Covid-19.
