Study Says Malaysian Satisfied with Their Government in Handling Covid-19




In the global survey, its been said that Malaysia is in the fourth position with the consent of the public to the measures taken by their government in addressing the pandemic COVID-19, overcoming Singapore and Indonesia each in the seventh position.


According to Kashif Ansari, the Head Executive of Property IQI Global Group, he said this is not something surprisingly to Malaysian because the country has the best medical facilities. The government also has taken the proactive prevention in order to prevent the Covid 19 and protect the nation.


“The government always priorities the health and well-being of the nation compared to short-term economic gains. As a result, Malaysia successfully control the disease from spreading and probably will lifting the control movement order earlier from what has been planning”, he said so in the media press release last night.


He adds that, the property buyer from China and other Asian country come out with their evaluation saying the country of the United States and United Kingdom still faces the difficulty to overcome the crisis COVID 19.


Kashif said in the survey, Malaysia was in the fourth position with the index score of 58 in the back of the United Arab Emirates and India which was in third place with a score of 59. Vietnam was in the second place with a score of 77 and China (85) leading the list with most people giving high scores in all four key indicators: national political leadership, corporate leadership, community and media.


New Zealand (56) is the only Western country with a high index score compared to the global with an average of 45 – showing people in Western countries generally less satisfied with their country's performance in dealing with a pandemic.


He said the survey was carried out in conjunction with the major social research agency of Singapore Blackbox Research and specialist online panel of Toluna from 3-19 April, 2020, comprising more than 12,000 respondents aged between 18 to 80 in 23 countries.


In addition, he said, in the Southeast Asian region, with diverse economies, better education opportunities, excellent medical infrastructure and overwhelming response to the pandemic would make Malaysia more popular among foreign buyers in the second half of 2020 compared to 2019.


"Property buyers from mainland China and Hong Kong are the largest foreign shopper group in Malaysia, we also expect the increasing buyers from Singapore, Indonesia and Japan this year," he said. — Bernama
